Our team is dedicated to the vision that a long-acting, non-hormonal, reversible male contraceptive will improve the quality of life for men and their female partners and will reduce the rate of unintended pregnancies worldwide.

Social Mission

Revolution Contraceptives believes in empowering men worldwide to better control their reproduction with a reliable, safe, cost-effective, and reversible contraceptive.

History

Revolution Contraceptives was originally formed in 2013 as a social venture by the Parsemus Foundation, for the purpose of developing Vasalgel. The Parsemus Foundation is a nonprofit organization formed in 2005 by Elaine Lissner to create meaningful improvements in human and animal health and welfare by advancing innovative and neglected medical research. Ms. Lissner’s interest in male contraception began during her undergraduate studies at Stanford University. She subsequently wrote several popular articles on the topic and founded the Male Contraception Information Project prior to creating the Parsemus Foundation. Ms. Lissner was inspired to start the Vasalgel project to expand contraceptive options worldwide.
